Designed and built in Tasmania, Knoop 27 are excellent contenders for club races whilst still offering a great layout for cruising around the islands in summer. They are well renowned yachts for their sea handling abilities and performance in Tasmanian conditions. Sporting solid structural integrity and a seaworthy design Knoop's are able to handle high latitudes swells and winds. Powered by a reliable Volvo Penta 10HP (rebuilt in 2014) with very little hours, you are guaranteed to reach your destination at 5-6 knts economically when running the engine.
The Knoop 27 offers the best of both worlds with a potential for being competitive in local twilight races along with it's thoughtful inside layout. She can easily be single or short handed with the jib on furler and all lines leading back to the cockpit. The newly painted deck (2022) offers excellent grip and sturdiness moving around the yacht and a well thought ergonomic layout for sailing. Inside, she offers a dining area for two, plenty of daylight, a well fitted galley with a 2 burners metho stove and a sink. Moving forward there is ample storage space, a airhead composting toilet and a comfortable double berth.
This yacht is the perfect beginner entry level yacht to learn or improve coastal sailing skills before considering bluewater cruising. Low maintenance (fibreglass construction), versatility and beautiful fine lines makes her the perfect yacht to take the family on a cruise around on the East coast this Christmas break.
