Knoop Doven Kia Orana

Knoop Doven designed and built in Tasmania by Walter Knoop. Launched 1985 and known as very seaworthy boats but also handy around the buoys or cruising in the bay. Kia Orana has been a successful club racer but has also done numerous passages to Bass Straight islands and Southern Australian coast. Lead Fin keel with skeg hung rudder. Well protected cockpit with dodger and bimini. Beautiful to sail, comfortable in a seaway and stiff in a breeze. Navick wind vane and Pelagic tiller pilot make for relaxing passages. AIS transmit and receive linked to chart plotters. If you want to get into cruising at a good price, look no further.

Very comfortable and tidy cabin. Well suited to Mum, Dad and a couple of kids.
Easily managed single handed with all lines leading back to the cockpit. Main sail in boom bag and new All Mast Furler and forestay. Genoa with new solar guard and Main with three reefs. Third reef acts as effective storm sail. D1-20 Volvo Penta Diesel replaced by previous owner and regularly serviced having done 1300 hrs.
Current owner has done many upgrades. All upholstery recovered with new mattress in v berth and Starboard midship berth. New carpet in cabin. July 24 New Bimini. New VHF radio with DSC and GPS positioning. EPIRB, Flares and fire extinguisher's renewed. New galley sink foot pump and salt pump. Cabin interior repainted and varnished. Fresh water system upgraded with new plumbing. Jan 25 All windows replaced. March 25 New Pellagic tiller pilot. July 25 Boat slipped and Antifouled. Rudder removed and bushes replaced. New Swim ladder. Solar upgraded to 280watts and 40 amp controller with Bluetooth connectivity. Circuit breakers added and dedicated tinned copper circuit with Anderson plugs for fridge. New kit in toilet. Main Sail cover renovated and new zip added. Engine serviced, oil changed and anodes replaced. Vessel moored at lagoon boat club Geelong.

This has been a terrific boat for the current owners who now want to move to something bigger.
