With great sadness, our beloved Serendipity V is listed for sale after living aboard for the last four cruising seasons in central and north Qld. She has been a wonderful platform for our adventures and the privilege of spending lots of time along tropical Qld's coast, exquisite periods on the outer reef and experiencing marine life both above and below the water. Because Serendipity V was so well maintained and loved by her previous owners, and because we have been fastidious in keeping her in excellent shape, she has exceeded our expectations in both accomodation and sailing ability. Perfect for us as a couple and with comfort when family and friends have spent extended periods on board.
The renowned performance multihull designers Morrelli and Melvin collaborated with Robertson and Caine to produce the Leopard 38 catamaran which won significant awards in 2010, including Cruising World's Boat of the Year in two categories: Best Multihull Cruiser and Best Import Boat of the Year. It also won best multihull cruiser by Sail Magazine. While we were impressed by Serendipity V when we bought her, we now fully appreciate the amazing use of space, exceptional living and entertaining areas, and her constantly surprising sailing performance. Whether downwind trade wind sailing or beating to windward, she is stable, fast and a pleasure to sail.
Serendipity V has four double cabins. The forward cabins each have an additional single v berth, providing a total of ten berths. There are two dry heads with bathrooms/showers. One in each hull. Perfect for two couples and providing ample storage space. We have stored one queen mattress to allow one cabin to be used as a storage area for water sports toys and tools as well as a spacious workshop area for maintenance jobs while aboard. The other forward cabin can be used as an additional cabin as well as a pantry, storage and dressing room.
A Spectra water maker along with 1000 litres of fresh water storage makes cruising easy and the twin air conditioners cool, heat or dehumidify while in marinas on shore power.
Wide flat decks allow very easy safe access forward and the semi elevated helm is at the same level as the side decks. Excellent visibility while still being able to have direct line of sight and close proximity to the galley is something we as a cruising couple greatly appreciate. The galley up has also proved to be wonderful with many baked morning teas and meals have been prepared while underway.
As we are cruising full time, the photos include gear and are definitely not 'glamour shots'. We may be out of range occasionally so please give a little time if we do not respond to, calls or emails instantly. Soon she will be available for viewing when we arrive at Keppel Bay Marina, Yeppoon.
