Papahobo is a 1996 Mason 44 that embodies the pinnacle of blue-water cruising performance. Masterfully built by the legendary Ta Shing Yard (PAE) from the designs of Al Mason and Jeff Leishman, this traditional GRP, full-keel cutter balances timeless offshore style with rugged global capability. Currently lying on the Gold Coast with Australian taxes paid, she is fully turn-key and primed for immediate ocean passage making.

Measuring 13.39 metres LOA with a 3.73-metre beam and a 1.73-metre draft, Papahobo delivers a stable, safe and seakindly motion in open water. Her ocean-going readiness is highlighted by recent rigging and sail upgrades, featuring standing rigging fully replaced in 2021 and a complete new suite of sails renewed in 2022. Auxiliary power is supplied by a 37.28 kW (50hp) Yanmar engine paired with a 3-blade Max-Prop, both serviced in March 2025 alongside new cutlass bearings. Heavy-duty ground tackle includes a 35kg Ultra anchor riding on 106.68 metres of 9.5mm chain controlled by a Maxwell 3500 windlass.

Configured for self-sufficient, long-range liveability, the yacht relies on a robust off-grid electrical setup driven by a 600 Ah Lithium house bank, 700W of solar power and a Rutland wind generator. Below deck, the beautifully crafted two-cabin layout provides over 1.83 metres of headroom throughout. Interior systems are fully equipped for any climate, boasting a Mabru 12V air conditioning system in the aft cabin, a Webasto diesel water heater, top-loading refrigeration and a Spectra watermaker to ensure complete autonomy wherever you drop anchor.
