In the early 80's Ben Lexcen (then Bob Miller) designed these fast, tough, versatile and well performing little yachts which are praised for their classic functional design suited to family cruising and twighlight racing.
Freedom is the ideal "entry level" keel boat for club and twighlight racing and cruising. Built in 1985 by C. R Masters Boatbuilders she has undergone an extensive rebuild in recent years including standing rigging (2020) running rigging, new mainsail, boom bag, lazy jacks, new headsail, new furlex furler with retractable spinnaker prodder, two additional spinnakers, new assymetric and spinnaker pole.
The Yanmar 10 HP engine has been regularly serviced and runs well.
All new Selden Brass self tailing winches and brass winch handles, tracks, deck gear and cars.
Freedom has been completely re-wired including a new switch panel and batteries.
Just last month the hull was stripped back to gel coat, primed, anifouled and new prop speed added.
A new 2 blade folding propellor was added in 2020
Due to ill health the boat has not been used for the past 5 years, with a total of circa $60K spent with full receipts available
