Moody 42 Centre-Cockpit Cruising Yacht

This Moody 42 Centre-Cockpit cruising yacht was shipped out from the UK about 30 years ago and has since been enjoyed for family cruising around Port Phillip. Now offered for sale as a Project for restoration, she was solidly built under Lloyds Certification. She has high freeboard and is very roomy in the traditional English cruising yacht style.

On deck she has a spacious centre cockpit with wheel steering, sheet winches and a large storage locker, an alloy mast and boom and a masthead sloop rig with a dacron mainsail and a furling headsail included. There is a foredeck anchor and sail handling well that provides great security when working forward at sea and there's plenty of deck space for lounging around when cruising or at anchor.

She sleeps 6 in a V-berth fore cabin, a midships cabin to port with upper and lower single berths and an aft cabin with a big double berth. There is a fully enclosed toilet and shower. The galley is located in the walkway to the aft cabin with a twin hot plate, twin S/S sinks, a front-opening fridge and plenty of storage. The high freeboard provides good headroom and there's lots of traditional teak on bulkheads and cabinetry.

The main saloon features a U shaped lounge around a drop side saloon table and a front-facing navigation table and seat positioned opposite. There's a lot of electronic equipment of unknown operational status including radios, Autopilot, Radar, GPS and other instrumentation.

There is a 2008 50HP Lombardini shaft-drive diesel engine in a roomy engine compartment under the cockpit that runs beautifully but much of her other equipment is showing signs of age. She will certainly need new standing rigging and could use a general spruce-up to restore her to past glories.

If you're good with your hands, don't mind a bit of work and can see the potential, you could turn this faded lady into a lovely coastal cruising yacht again. She is to be sold on an AS IS WHERE IS basis.
