Mottle 33 CAPABLE AND COMFORTABLE CRUISER/RACER!

The Mottle 33 is a highly regarded Australian designed cruiser-racer, celebrated for its excellent sailing performance, solid construction, and surprisingly spacious interior. Designed by Joe Adams, these versatile yachts are equally at home cruising offshore as they are competing in club and twilight races, with many having completed serious Bluewater passages. Renowned for their safety, ease of handling, and balanced sailing characteristics, they offer a rewarding experience for both seasoned sailors and newcomers alike. Below deck, the layout is practical and comfortable, with generous accommodation, good headroom, and thoughtful storage, making them ideal for extended cruising or even as a comfortable liveaboard. Well built and proven over decades, the Mottle 33 remains one of the most sought after yachts in its class. This vessel is a good example of the design, and is well set up for easy cruising. With its freshly serviced engine, NEW annodes, and clean hull (all done July 2025) it presents an excellent entry into the sailing world!

Stepping inside, the interior volume of the design has to be seen to be fully appreciated! The light and airy saloon has seating for 6 in comfort on the nearly upholstered settees. To starboard is the L shaped galley which featuring a 2 burner metho stove, stainless steel sink with fresh water, and plenty of storage. Opposite is a chart table with large icebox below. The accommodation is a great feature in the Mottle 33s, and this one is no exception. The large double berth in the master cabin is well appointed with excellent storage. There is a second double berth forward, and two single settee berths available when extra accommodation is required. The package is complete with private bathroom with toilet and vanity.

On deck, the generous cockpit is a great space to take in the views both underway and in your favourite anchorage. It is well set up with a spray dodger, and full set of cockpit cushions for additional comfort. This vessel is easily sailed shorthanded with the furling headsail, mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, and most lines lead back to the cabin top. There is easy access forward around the wide side decks, and there is an electric anchor winch on the bow for hassle free anchoring.

This vessel is powered by a 35HP Yanmar diesel engine. This provides easy cruising at 5 to 6 knots.

With the Mottle 33's superb reputation, this versatile vessel is one not to miss! Whether you are looking for a safe first yacht to learn the ropes, a capable yacht to complete even the most ambitious sailing aspirations, or you want to enjoy the liveaboard lifestyle, this Mottle 33 can do it all!
