Description: Northshore 38 EXCELLENT CONDITION, MANY UPGRADES!
Designed by the legendary Hank Kaufman, the Northshore 38 has remained one of the most successful cruiser/racers to be built in Australia. With their spacious interiors, impressive turn of speed, and true versatility, they are regularly seen both racing and cruising around Australia with great success. The virtues of the design resulted in it receiving the prestigious "Yacht of the Year Award" in 1986. This vessel is an excellent example of the design, and one of the best that we have come across! The previous owner enjoyed the vessel for 30 years, and cruised extensively including to QLD and back, and multiple trips to Port Davey on Tasmania's rugged South West. The vessel was also raced successfully and has been regularly on the podium for both twilight and IRC racing. Under their long term ownership the vessel also benefited from extensive upgrades including NEW IN 2017 VOLVO 29HP DIESEL ENGINE WITH ONLY 435 HRS ON THE CLOCK, NEW IN 2018 DYFORM STANDING RIGGING, IN 2006 A SUGAR SCOOP WAS ADDED FOR EASY BOARDING, NEW B&G CHARTPLOTTER ON THE STEERING PEDESTAL, AND AN EXTENSIVE SAIL INVENTORY FOR RACING AND CRUISING! The current owner has continued to enjoy and improve the vessel with a NEW 2023 SPRAY DODGER AND BOOM BAG, NEW 2023 ENGINE BATTERY, NEW 2023 MICROWAVE, NEW 2023 ELECTRIC BILGE PUMP WITH HIGH WATER ALARM, AND HAS HAD THE 12V SYSTEM FULL REWIRED INCLUDING ADDING A NEW 2023 VICTRON BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, DC TO DC CHARGER, AND INVERTER. This vessel also has a claim to fame, and featured in the movie Lion (2017 with Nicole Kidman and David Wenham filmed onboard)! Presented in excellent condition throughout, with all the major systems upgraded and improved, this vessel is ready for a Summer of sailing! Whether you want to cruise, race, or use the vessel as the ultimate waterfront apartment, it can do it all with style, safety, and comfort!

Stepping inside, the quality timber trims and clean white finishes create a light and airy ambience. The timber work and upholstery are in good condition throughout, and the quality of the original build of the vessel is immediately evident. To port is a generous timber dinette with seating for 6 in comfort. The accommodation is ideal for cruising with family and friends, and features a private double berth forward, and single quarter berth aft to starboard. The dinette also converts to a double berth, and there are two additional bunk settee berths available when extra accommodation is required. The well appointed galley is to port and features a large top loading fridge, 3 burner gas stove with oven, microwave, and excellent storage. Opposite is the traditional chart table which is sure to please even the most discerning sailor. The package is complete with private bathroom with toilet, shower, and vanity.

On deck, the the cockpit is very well set up for short handed sailing. The chart plotter and autopilot are easily accessed from the wheel, and with the furling headsail, mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, and all lines lead back to the cockpit, sailing is a breeze even single handed. The cockpit is a great space to relax in your favourite anchorage and is adorned with a full set of quality cushions.

This vessel is powered by a well maintained NEW HP Volvo Diesel engine with only 435hrs on the clock! This provides easy cruising at 6 to 7 knots, and there is excellent access for hassle free servicing.

Superbly maintained and upgraded, this is a vessel that is sure to impress. Presenting in excellent condition throughout, it is ready to be enjoyed. An inspection is highly recommended. For more information please call Jo Breen on or John Radonic on .
