Coming in at just under 60' the 565 was Rob Humphreys' replacement for his Oyster 575, and is our G6, or sixth generation deck saloon design. He incorporated a number of new features on the 565; a longer waterline with plumb bow which allows for a bowsprit for the anchor and simplifies the handling of downwind sails, a sleek profile with flush foredeck, twin rudders and our popular seascape windows to the owner's stateroom. The rig was also updated with swept back spreaders, a larger mainsail and smaller headsail for optimum sailing performance and ease of handling shorthanded.
The 565 is a proven circumnavigator, offering luxurious accommodation for up to seven in four cabins, and plenty of space for the equipment that makes living aboard a pleasure; generator, washer/dryer, air-conditioning, watermaker, and heating for example. The 565 is perhaps the sweet spot in size for those seeking a capable bluewater cruiser which is easy to handle for a couple.
Rock Lobster IV was specified by an experienced yachtsman for the 2024-25 Oyster World Rally, with a view to later cold-water cruising. She was carefully prepared and has been cared for during the Rally and subsequently. Rock Lobster IV is ideal for a future world rally, or other long-range cruising. Unusually she is 'deemed UK VAT paid' by HMRC which allows her the freedom to sail in UK waters without generating a UK VAT liability, and she is also entitled to new standing rod rigging under an existing Oyster warranty commitment.
Rock Lobster IV would repay an early viewing!
