KARIBU is a capable bluewater sailing yacht from the Oyster 885 series, designed by Rob Humphreys and delivered in 2013 as the second hull in the shipyard's flagship range. Built for serious offshore cruising, she combines Oyster's proven sailing platform with a vibrant, contemporary interior and a charter-friendly layout.
In 2022, KARIBU completed a comprehensive refit with a budget exceeding EUR2 million. The scope covered all major systems and surfaces, including a new Future Fibres EC6 carbon rig, freshly painted hull in Teale Blue, new interior upholstery, upgraded IT and AV systems, and a brand-new 4.35m Williams jet tender. The result is a yacht that feels modern, mechanically sorted and ready to go.
KARIBU's layout is well suited for both private and charter use. She sleeps eight guests in four cabins, including a master suite aft with Oyster's signature triple vertical Seascape windows, offering natural light and sea views. Two doubles and one twin cabin complete the guest setup. Crew are accommodated in two forward cabins, with the option to configure the captain's cabin as either a double or a twin.
Deck spaces are spacious and functional, with a split cockpit arrangement that separates sailing operations from the guest lounge and dining area. The foredeck houses the main tender in a recessed well that transforms into a sunken lounge, fitted with bright cushions and a sun pad. A large hydraulic swim platform aft provides easy access to the water.
Inside, the raised main saloon benefits from wraparound windows and a U-shaped sofa to starboard. Expandable coffee tables with rise-and-fall functionality allow the space to convert seamlessly into an interior dining area. During the refit, bespoke timber furniture was added throughout, along with a new bar area featuring a wine fridge, ice maker and glass cabinetry. The entire interior was redesigned in collaboration with the multi-award-winning UK-based Design Unlimited, using vibrant colors and high-end materials to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Commercially compliant under MCA Cat 2, KARIBU has a proven charter history in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. She is presented in immaculate condition and stands out in her class for her blend of performance, finish, and readiness for global cruising.
