Pescott Whitehaven 36' Performance Cruising Cat

16 kts effortless boat speed in 19 kts of wind !
Owner said with family of five on board doing their own thing in Hervey Bay, boat cruised along at 16 kts in 19 kts of wind effortlessly under Screecher and Main, one finger steering with one crew assisting, the rest relaxing and enjoying the experience. Designed by Australian multihull sailor Mark Pescott, who cruised his own Whitehaven to Thailand, the Whitehaven is renowned for its very strong construction, sleek hulls, and exceptional performance under sail. Whether you're chasing trade winds offshore or exploring the coast with family, this cat delivers excellent sailing with full liveaboard comfort. Professionally built using lightweight epoxy composite, Aquila is incredibly well-equipped for extended off grid cruising including 800 watts of solar, 300 amps LIfepo batteries, 400 watt wind generator. Her sleek lines and efficient hull shape allow her to outperform many production cats while still offering the space, storage, ample head room, and comfort long-distance sailors demand.
Below decks, Aquila's interior is spacious, airy, and thoughtfully laid out. She has two queen cabins forward with two singles in the bows and one double aft. A galley-down configuration to port, two built-in fridges, and generous accommodation make her perfect for liveaboard life or blue-water adventure. Located on the Gold Coast, she is fully equipped, meticulously maintained, and truly turnkey. If you enjoy the thrill of sailing, "Aquila" delivers effortless speed for shorter passage times, proven offshore capability, and comfortable onboard living. Ideal for couples, or families looking to explore Australia's stunning coastline and beyond to the Pacific Islands.

Two spacious, north/south facing queen cabins located forward, both offering nearly identical layouts. These cabins provide excellent privacy and comfort, ideal for owners or primary guests. Each includes ample storage, natural light, and easy access. There are also ¾-size single berths in the bows, that can be used for storage or for sleeping in the unlikely event that you have 8 people on board. There is a double cabin aft on the port side.

At the heart of the boat is a spacious saloon with a U-shaped lounge, capable of seating 8 people with ease. This area serves as a versatile social hub, perfect for dining, entertaining, or relaxing after a day on the water. .

Overall, this layout balances comfort, practicality, and sociability, making it ideal for extended cruising, liveaboard use, or entertaining family and friends. The owner recently hosted six adults onboard for a week and noted there was still ample space to move about comfortably, a true testament to the vessel's thoughtful layout and clever design.
