Description: Radford 10.6 SEACLASS ~ Excellent Offshore Inventory.
The Radford Seaclass 10.6 is a fast and capable cruising yacht. With its impressive turn of speed, light displacement and long waterline, this versatile design is also very competitive on the club racing scene.
The construction of the Radford 10.6 is designed to Australian Standard AS4132.3.'Wave Dancer' was professionally built by Shekinah Boatworks in Taree, NSW. The build and finish are both excellent and the quality of the fit out is impressive. The deck is foam and balsa core composite construction. The hull has a 20mm thick foam core that tapers down to solid fibreglass. This method of construction produces a light and very stiff hull that translates to impressive performance on the water. The entire build has been well documented and there is a full-size set of printed plans onboard. This method of construction comes at a high cost and you won't find anything close to this in a European production boat!
The cockpit is very spacious for a yacht of this size, and with the tiller folded up out of the way, access to the aft boarding/swim platform is both easy and unobstructed. There are large cockpit storage lockers aft, that accommodate a self-draining gas bottle locker and are separated from the accommodation by a watertight bulkhead. There is another watertight collision bulkhead in the bow. It is unusual to see these safety features built into a yacht like this. Watertight bulkheads are usually a design feature on yachts that have been purpose built to sail into the high latitudes.
Step down below and you are greeted with a lovely light, clean and uncluttered interior. There are numerous port holes and opening hatches that deliver an abundance of natural light and great ventilation throughout the boat. The choice of Myrtle timber for the fit out adds a nice warm touch.
The L-shaped galley to starboard features up market Corian bench tops. There is a very good model Broadwater stove with oven and grill and an Isotherm 12v top loading refrigerator. All the necessities are there to cook up and absolute storm. Storage is well catered for and there is additional dedicated crockery and drinkware cupboards above the starboard settee.
The saloon has two full length settees/sea berths on either side of a drop leaf dining table. There is loads of additional storage behind the backrests and cupboards above.
The owners cabin is forward and has a comfortable size double bed. There is a good size single quarter berth on the port side behind the nav table, and two singles in the saloon.
The nav table is superb and the swivelling chair is a very nice touch. It's here that you will find an array of high-quality electronics including an Icom SSB radio, Icom VHF radio, GME AIS Transponder, Xantrex battery monitor, Gas detector and a Raymarine Hybrid Touch chartplotter - All the good stuff that every serious offshore sailor would have on their wish list. Power requirements are well taken care of with two 150W (300W total) solar panels on top of the bimini.
The 30hp Volvo Penta engine is barely run in with only 335 hours on the clock. And it looks it! Engine access is amongst the best you will ever see on a yacht this size.
To complete the cruising package there is a rugged unsinkable Plaka dinghy with a Yamaha 3hp outboard engine. The foredeck has ample room to stow the dinghy and the outboard stows on a pushpit mount.
Wave Dancer has been extremely well setup and comes with a comprehensive inventory of high-quality modern equipment. This is genuinely a turnkey yacht, ready to provision and head off on your next cruising adventure.
Wave Dancer has been meticulously well maintained by her current owners and presents in pristine condition inside and out. An inspection will definitely not disappoint.
