Radford 450 - Pilothouse

The Radford 450 is a performance-oriented Bluewater cruising sailboat designed by Grahame Radford, an Australian naval architect known for his capable offshore designs. The 450 is one of his mid-sized ocean cruisers, intended for long-distance cruising or fast passage making.
Azimuths hull, deck and super structure were professionally built by Mr. Geoff Haig of All Steel yachts at Hemmant with the interior fit out and systems installation being completed by the current owner Mr. Russell Michel. The vessel was the 7th built to this design. The vessel is of a round bilged hull form, constructed of 4mm steel plate over 60mm x 8mm transverse steel frames and 40mm x 6mm longitudinal steel stringers. The deck house, cockpit floor and decks are all 3mm plate. No filler has been used below the waterline. The hull plates have been rolled and the construction, by All steel yachts, has been completed to the highest of standards. The lead ballast is encapsulated within the steel fin keel. The vessel has been built to a proven design and to a professional standard.
