Radford 47 - new, substantially complete, not yet launched

This 47' Radford is a fast cruising version of the renowned Radford Yachts R450/R460 design, to which the owner additionally specified shorthanded sailing capability, safety and cruising comfort features. To this end no expense was spared in finishing standards and quality equipping. Now 99.9% complete, though not yet launched, recent family health circumstances have forced this reluctant sale of the boat. Project managed from inception by the engineer owner and currently situated in East Victoria Park, Perth she has been largely completed by contracted marine professionals, including hull and decks construction, insulation, fairing and painting, and a majority of the fit-out. The balance of the work has been completed by the owner.

Equipped with three double cabins, the aft (master) cabin with king size bed, and all with ample storage lockers, drawers and hanging lockers, there is a shower/toilet forward and another aft (the latter ensuite to the master cabin). The spacious light and airy saloon has the nav station integrated into it to maximise recreational area. The galley is equipped with a fridge and freezer, gimballed gas stove/grill/oven, microwave oven and dual sinks with hot/cold fresh water, salt water and filtered/UV sterilised drinking water.

Comfort features include: a dedicated DC system feeding refrigeration/LED lighting/fans/pumps/etc; 240VAC via 15kVA diesel powered genset, shore power via isolation transformer, or inverter and with power outlets throughout the boat; reverse cycle airconditioning (Cruisair) and cabin heating ex a hot air blower system (Eberspacher); a hot air drying cabinet; a water maker; provision for a washing machine. Short handed sailing features include: sail trimming and handling from the cockpit, including reefing and furling; hydraulic powered cockpit winch and hydraulic anchor winch with optional dual cockpit control; a powerful hydraulic autopilot with remote.

The well equipped engine room below the cockpit and midships cabin has good access via multiple access doors and contains the 82HP Perkins (primary) and 9HP Kubota (genset and auxiliary equipment) diesel engines as well as various pumps, hydraulic and electrical equipment (including several high capacity 12V alternators), all with comprehensive instrumentation. The engine room is substantially watertight, soundproofed and has good ducted fan forced external ventilation. A custom labelling system identifying service lines, cables, equipment, instrumentation, etc is referenced back to datasheets for easy identification. Steering gear is readily accessible from a spacious lazarette.

Throughout the build, the owner has consistently sought very high standards, with onus on quality workmanship, materials and equipment selection. Feature-wise this boat far exceeds boats typically available today and is being offered for sale below cost, representing a rare value opportunity to get into cruising/ live-aboard mode in an exceptional boat.
