Randell 23 jog racing version "Rugged"

This outstanding little yacht, "Jackie R" was constructed over a period of 48 years from 1962 on an identical design by Len Randell of a yacht "Rugged" which won the Fremantle to Cape Naturalist and return ocean race in circa 1958. The hull builder was related to Len Randell unbeknown. Andrew Randell, his son, decided to complete his fathers project in 2000, and over a period of 10 years completed the yacht. He was awarded the Hal Harper award for wooden boat workmanship upon completion. The vessel presents in as new condition with the timber mast requiring a revarnish soon. The engine has only run 160 hrs in 16 years and has just been fully serviced. Sails are predominantly as new with very little use. She has never sailed offshore to my knowledge but could achieve coastal passages.
She requires a new custodian after my brief tenure of only 10 months. Sadly health issues reduce my capacity to continue looking after her. You will not find a more beautiful yacht that is a pleasure to sail. Please research these facts on You Tube for your own benefit.
