Roberts 30 Motor Sailer... Now drastically REDUCED to $33,000

YACHT FOR SALE - 'RED'... Now drastically REDUCED to $33,000

RED is a 30' [9 m] Roberts design, cutter rigged, 10' [3 m] beam, 6'3" headroom. A beamy roomy boat for her length, with headroom for taller people, a sensible galley to starboard [wired for 240V mains power in port], a comfortable carpeted saloon with polished Blackwood and Huon Pine table, and a full length settee to port. She has a spacious cockpit for outdoor living, sheltered by a full-width solid 'Tassie dodger', and wheel steering. She has a double innerspring bed forward.
RED has been our southern Tasmanian home, our 'shack', our zen space - to relax with friends in the cockpit at our marina berth, or change the scene to a quiet cove when the impulse took us, to feel her gentle motion at anchor, just far enough off shore to know the peace of solitude, catch a fish, or simply watch the stars rotate over us at night. Her modest length [9 m] makes her an economical boat in a marina berth where all the facilities you need are available for an extended stay. She has space for a couple to be comfortable both below deck and in the cockpit.
RED's hull is solid hand-laid C-flex fiberglass [no soft core]. The workmanship has stood the test of time, no sign of osmosis or other problems. She is a dry boat, re-engined in 2009 with a new Beta 28hp diesel by Franklin Marine, and has less than 400 hours up. In 2014 the original timber deck was replaced, a lot of other work was done, hardware replaced, a new prop, gland, SS fuel and water tanks, and windows. Details available. All work was done at Kettering by RM Marine.
New solar panel, controller, 2 house batteries replaced in 2022, start battery in 2025. RED was launched in 1986. Built for two sailors who were foundation members of the Cruising Yacht Club of Tas, for their families. Her maiden voyage was to Port Davey. She spent her life in Southern Tas. We became her third owners in 2012. We've lived aboard for up to 6 months, in all seasons, cruised her around SE Tas when time was available, and ensured anything she needed was done to protect her longevity. When we are not on board she has been moored at Cygnet. We live in Launceston.
A recent health disaster forces us to let her go. Pricing a yacht is difficult. We offer her at a drastically reduced price in a private sale. A near-new Walker Bay 2.5m dinghy is included.
'RED' is in Hobart at Prince of Wales Bay Marina, berth C2A.
