Seawind 1160 Deluxe Three Cabin Owners version

After 18 years of wonderful family adventures, sailing over 35,000 nautical miles (65,000 km) between Sydney and the Whitsundays, and living onboard for over 370 days and nights, it is time for the next adventurous person or family to make as many, if not more, wonderful memories as we have on board Destiny.

Why the name Destiny?

Because a wise man once said, Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved.

Twenty years from now, it is most likely you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the things you did. It was for this reason I ordered Destiny from Richard Ward and Seawind Catamarans at the absolute busiest time of my life, when I was working around 100 hours per week and living in Perth, WA. Second to the woman I married, purchasing a Seawind 1160 was one of the best decisions I have made. If you are interested, phone me as I am happy to provide you with all the details. Far too numerous to list here.

Now it is your turn.

So cast off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbours, catch the Trade Winds in your sails, explore, dream, and discover. May your journey be filled with many adventures, great relaxation, an escape from the everyday, opportunities to discover new things about yourself and countless serendipities.

This Seawind 1160 is an outstanding opportunity to purchase a well-maintained Australian-manufactured catamaran currently in the Cumberland Charter Yacht fleet in the Whitsundays. After 18 years of boat ownership, I cannot think of a better way to own a boat than a well-run charter business.

Destiny is an Australian-built Seawind 1160 with a resin-infused hull providing maximum strength with minimum weight. Built to satisfy NSW Waterways Survey 2C, 1E, 4E, and currently operating as a charter catamaran out of Airlie Beach. The functional design, robust construction, impressive sailing performance, and effortless single-handed sail handling make this the ideal catamaran for new and experienced sailors. Destiny has the added advantage of being built in the most popular three-cabin owner model, providing a spacious captain's cabin and dual side access to the east-west oriented bed. A functional navigation station and work desk, and a wonderful, spacious Dry Head (bathroom) with a large separate shower, separate vanity and electric-flush porcelain toilet.

The signature trifold door system disappears into the Targa roof with solid infill walk-on panels, connecting the generous indoor living room with the massive cockpit, providing versatility for managing cabin and cockpit size and comfort no matter the weather conditions.

Fixed three-blade propellers installed for reliability and ease of manoeuvring, with the original Gory three-bladed propellers included in the sale.

I have yet to experience a time when I was concerned that the conditions were beyond what this boat could handle or that the boat was unstable. Even surfing down 5-meter waves in winds exceeding 35 knots, with a boat speed hitting17 knots, the performance of this catamaran is outstanding and feels like a rocket on rails.

This one-owner catamaran has been well maintained by professional Technicians and the owner since new, applying a proactive maintenance approach of replacing what is required before it can fail. As she has been polished and waxed from the top of the saloon to the waterline every year since new, she always looks her best and hides her age well.

The sail configuration, with additional sails and numerous custom improvements completed by her experienced owners, allows for easy single-person sailing.

Contact me today for your opportunity to own this amazing catamaran. I look forward to answering all and any questions you may have about Destiny or cruising the Coral Coast.
