Skerry Cruiser 30 sqm Class

An exceptional example of a meter class yacht thanks to her 2023 refit by her Shipwright / and current owner this Skerry cruiser lacks for little in the pursuit of speed, which is just as well as she offers very little in terms of luxurious comfort. What she does offer is a very good sail wardrobe, a lightweight, sail-drive electric motor which when retracted and sealed offers a slippery drag reduced hull. Her boom and spinnaker pole are carbon fibre, as is her custom designed moulded cockpit. Whilst she may be spartan below, her interior (as is evident in the photographs) is warm and inviting whilst also mindful of weight reduction being lined with Paulowina. She has a spacious and surprisingly dry cockpit under sail and clean unclutter decks. Her rigging is three years old and her hull has recently been antifouled.
'Spetsig' (an old Nordic word meaning 'sharp' or 'pointed') is easily sailed short handed and as such has picked up numerous wins across assorted competitions along with three consecutive second place results in the past three Brisbane to Gladstone yacht races. Her hull of fibreglass sandwiched with 32mm of foam was constructed by NSW boat builders 'BoatSpeed' the same company that built George Snow's Brindabella, and fellow Hobart winner '97' along with Ellen McAthur's Trimaran B&Q Castorama which broke the fastest solo circumnavigation record, so Spetsig and her new owner will be in very fine company.
