Description: Slocum Cutter Rigged Sloop Custom
ELITA
10m (33') Slocum SPRAY 80% Copy
Bruce Roberts Design
Launched 9-9-2009

Elita is a cutter rigged steel sloop 33'(10m) long, 12'(3.65m) beam and 4' (1.2m) draft, displacement 13t

Elita was built undercover over a period 5 years and when finished, transported to Melbourne Maritime, where her mast, rigging and sails were fitted. Sails were made locally by Doyle and consist of inner and outer headsails and main. The hull is painted green with deck and upper painted sand color. The paint spec was for an "International Paint" system.

There are davits located on the stern for a dingy and a 90w solar panel is fitted above. The solar panel feeds a regulator mounted inside the cabin. A further solar panel, dedicated to charging a winch battery (HCM31SMF AC Delco 110amp), is located on the cabin roof close to the Muir winch.

Standing rigging was recently renewed and roller reefing fitted to the headsail.

A new, never used, asymmetric spinnaker is also available.

The hull and cabin is foam insulated and lined with cedar boards with plenty of 12v lighting distributed throughout the interior. Power is supplied from a battery bank which currently accommodates 2off HCM31SMF AC Delco 110amp deep cycle batteries with space for a third.

The Galley is fitted with a Smeg 4 burner stove with oven on gimbals with an exhaust fan overhead, which can be sealed if needed from weather, and a stainless sink with pressurized water. A refrigerated cabinet of approx. 150 lt is located below the bench.

There is ample storage space throughout the boat with a wet locker with stainless tray for dripping clothing.

Sleeping accommodation consists of a double bed in the Stb aft quarter, a single bunk on both the Stb and Pt sides and a further two below on the fold down table seats making a total of six. All bunks have lighting provided.

A toilet/shower cabin, with a molded fiberglass base, has a sink c/w pressurized water. The shower is coupled with a heat exchanger allowing a hot shower at the end of a cruise. The Brydon Boy manual toilet is easy to use and can be diverted overboard or to a holding tank for disposal overboard at a later time. A diaphragm pump is fitted for this purpose. Also the holding tank has a deck fitting for vacuum disposal of the holding tank contents.

A Garmin GPSMAP 700 series is connected to a sonar depth sensor and a distance wheel via NMEA 2000 system. Elita is fitted with a Ritchie marine compass with compensation adjustment for metal boats and is illuminated for night use.

Ground tackle consists of a Sarca No. 6 anchor complete with ample chain and rode. The Muir H700 12VR electric windlass stores the anchor rode below deck into a stainless steel tray fitted in front of the bow. Any water from the rode is drained from the tray and pumped to the holding tank.

Engine propulsion is provided by a recently fitted new Yanmar 50 HP marine diesel/ gearbox. It has currently less than 200 hrs logged.

Elita is a comfortable sail boat that has sailed Bass Strait and has had much love and care (and money) lavished upon it. Unfortunately the family doesn't share my enthusiasm for my venture (an old story) and I am finding her harder to maintain because of health reasons so I need to sell.
