Based on a Roberts cruising design this 1989 South Coast 36 is a popular and highly regarded Australian built GRP production yacht, now for sale. She is in good all-round condition. Her deep cockpit, masthead cutter/sloop rig and hard dodger make her the perfect offshore yacht, weekend cruiser or live aboard.
This is a large volume yacht and when aboard is difficult to believe that she is only 36 feet in length. South Coast 36 yachts are renown for their high internal volume and spacious interiors equal to that of much bigger yachts. Popular for their well respected design, build and performance for a cruising yacht. South Coast 36's are well respected as blue water capable cruisers. Koshin has cruised the Pacific.
She is a cutter rigged sloop with sails in good condition.
Set up also for short handed or single handed sailing.

Layout - twin bunks forward with lockers and robe. Main saloon includes a spacious dining table with seating for 6 or more people plus a separate navigation table. The saloon/dining table drops down to a huge king size berth. There is a single berth opposite.
The private aft cabin has an extra long double berth, seating area, lots of lockers and robe. The passage way to the aft cabin also provides access to the port side of the engine.
The galley has twin sinks, a 2 burner stove Nelson with grill and oven. We have cooked roasts and pavolas on board so can confirm it has a great oven. The galley is equiped with a large fridge (re-gassed in 2023) and adjacent cool box for vegetables. The fridge and cool box area also provides impressive additional bench space.
Opposite the galley, through a door is the washroom with shower. Then through another door are the heads/toilet with through access to a large storage area and starboard side of engine.
Great headroom throughout the living areas, galley and shower/heads.
Engine and gearbox serviced in 2025.
Last out of the water in 2021 when she was surveyed and found to be osmosis free, the hull was then epoxied and antifouled. Stern gland and rudder stuffing replaced at that time. Anode replaced by diver in 2026 - Regularly scrubbed by a diver in recent years.
Australian registered ship with AMSA, means no annual state registration fees. And can be sailed Internationally - this yacht has sailed the Pacific. The centre cockpit features a large hard dodger which gives excellent protection from the elements and also when sailing to windward.
