2009 Southerly 49 | Ready to Go Anywhere
Do not call this just a yacht. This is a statement of freedom. The legendary Southerly 49 represents the pinnacle of British design ingenuity, offering a unique and unrivalled capability: true, go-anywhere sailing.
With the push of a button, her patented swing-keel retracts, transforming her from a deep-water performance bluewater cruiser into a shoal-draft explorer. Anchor in secluded coves, navigate inland waterways, and access harbors other 50-foot vessels can only dream of. Then, extend the keel for powerful, confident ocean passagemaking.
This 2009 model is a refined, modern iteration of an iconic design. Built to Lloyds specifications for ultimate strength and safety, she offers luxurious liveaboard comfort without sacrificing serious offshore performance.
Her thoughtful layout includes:
Spacious, full-width aft cabin owner's suite with ensuite head
Second private cabin forward with ensuite access
A bright, sea-kindly saloon perfect for entertaining
A renowned, well-protected center cockpit for secure, dry sailing
A comprehensive inventory for bluewater cruising and comfortable living
This is not a boat for the marina. This is a boat for the adventurous owner who looks at a chart and sees possibilities, not limitations. For the sailor who dreams of the Scottish lochs, the Caribbean cays, the Baltic archipelagos, and the transatlantic crossing--all in the same remarkable vessel.
Your world just expanded. The ultimate shallow-draft explorer awaits.
