Mayaluga - Swazi "one who crosses the horizon. " as seen in the 2018 film 'Adrift' has an impeccable pedigree. An exceptionally seaworthy and proven design by Sparkman & Stephens, the Hughes 38 built by Hughes Boat Works ltd. In Ontario Canada has seen many a successful circumnavigation. A design with focus on speed and safety, she gracefully takes to windward.

A comfortable and functional design. Thoughtfully put together with mahogany and teak woodwork throughout, stylish rattan cupboard doors, and ample storage. She comes with an array of contemporary equipment, a tough yet elegant tanbark sail inventory and she was built in '72 when fiber glass hulls were built to last.

Her engine room sits in the center of the boat under the saloon table - just above the keel - adding to her impressive ballast.

Upon her last haul out in October she was in excellent condition and not a spec of osmosis - as was 3 years prior. Antifouled with international micron extra 2 black.

History:
Mayaluga having had only a handful of owners travelled from Canada, through the Caribbean and across the pacific to Australia over the years. Whilst in Fiji - she was scouted and starred in the 2018 film 'Adrift. ' After the film she was bought by an Australian and sailed on a two week quarantine at sea during Covid-19 pandemic to Bundaberg QLD. She was then bought and moved to the Whitsundays - where she has resided the last 3 years as a liveaboard.

This classic beauty is capable of going just about anywhere, and doing just about anything. Cruising, liveaboard, racing? Maybe a trip back to Canada to complete her circumnavigation is in order. Will you take her there?
