Sparkman & Stephens S&S 30

The S&S 30 is a well proven yacht design by Olin Stephens of the famous design house of Sparkman & Stephens, renowned for its excellent sailing ability and its sea going capabilities with her solid GRP hull. Stephens named his first S&S 30 deign 'Babe' and said it was one of his favourite all-time creations. Australian factory built yacht by Jack Savage. Build date 1974. Hull design inspired by IOR (International Ocean Racing) rules with a 1.6m draft and very high ballast/displacement ratio of 47% makes the S&S 30 an extremely seaworthy and safe yacht. Designed for racing or cruising, she is renowned for superior performance to windward and manoeuvrability. Originally an Australian Navy training vessel, currently the third owner.

Sounder, Tiller pilot, VHF radio, safety gear including lifejackets, buoys. The Yanmar 18hp 2-cylinder 2GM diesel engine is extremely reliable, fitted with new oil and fuel filters and a new impeller pump, and runs perfectly. Feathering 3-blade prop. Internal upholstery/cushions all original vinyl, teak trim. Large CQR anchor and chain and danforth anchor with chain.

She has been used mainly for racing and has a comprehensive sail wardrobe for all racing demands including several headsails (nos. 1,2,3 etc), spinnaker, storm sail, spare mainsail and more. Running rigging and sailcover need replacing hence the very low asking price.

I am reluctantly selling due to change in health circumstances that preclude me from sailing and prefer she goes to a new owner who can get more enjoyment from her. Selling as is where is, I can take you out to the boat on its mooring and inspect everything.

If you are looking for quality and pedigree in design and build you can't ignore the Defiance S&S 30.
