Description: Sydney Yachts 41
The Sydney 41, also known as the Bashford-Howison 41  has long been considered an ideal club and offshore racer while at the same time offering a higher degree of cruising comfort than most similar yachts. This successful Murray Burns Dovell design has proved to be tough and competitive, both inshore and offshore. The roomy cockpit with good seating lends itself as much to club racing and twilights as it does to blue water offshore racing. This 1995 model has undergone many upgrades to her equipment, rig and sails including a new Brookes and Gatehouse H5000 system with a Hercules CPU, 12 inch Zeus multi function display with electronic charting, 7 inch Vulcan display, GPS and AIS plus a V60 VHF radio with a V50 wireless hand held VHF for cockpit use. The HF radio is an Icom 213 with an insulated backstay aerial.

Powered by a Yanmar 3JH2CE 38hp diesel engine with saildrive and a new Balmar 120 AH alternator,   the yacht was recently fitted with new Victron electrics with Lithium ION batteries and a Victron shore powered battery charger. The galley features a top-loading fridge, 2-burner spirit stove and sink plus a gas stove and oven not currently installed. Accomodation is roomy and comfortable with  a double forward V berth, settee berths and adjustable pipe cot options depending on how you choose to sail.

Her powerful masthead rig was fitted with new Dyform standing rigging in 2021. The sail wardrobe comprises inshore and offshore mainsails, J2, a new in mid 2023 J3, J4 and storm sails. Most of the upwind sails are Carbon while the downwind wardrobe comprises S2 and  S4 spinnakers plus a new S6. Fitted with deeper rudder with Carbon stock.   Winches are Harken, recently serviced and ready to go. Safety equipment is near to Category 2 including current flares and an 8 person liferaft in current survey.

Offered in ready to sail condition, this Sydney 41 is an excellent choice for competitive club and offshore racing in a well-found yacht with many recent upgrades.  She has wheel steering and an upgraded deeper rudder with carbon stock. Late in 2022 she was stripped of all old antifoul and her underwater surfaces were race-finished with new epoxy and antifoul.
