Intension was designed and built by Terry Ings, a well known local boating identity. She is of aluminium construction and is very strong and seaworthy. She is easy to sail and performs well on all points of sail. She is Fremantle Sailing Club and DOT safety compliant. The hull was painted and new antifoul applied in 2019. She has a lift keel with a draft of 2.3m down and 1.5m up. The hull is foam insulated and the keel lifting system and engine have recently been overhauled. The sails and rigging are in good condition.
