"Tam O Shanter" is a beautifully built classic carvel timber sloop, designed by Britsh Naval Architects Illingworth and Primrose, and built in 1965 by Bishop in WA with oregon above the waterline and jarrah below, copper roved to laminated frames. The cabin sides are teak. She has recently undergone a major hull restoration by local shipwrights which included full re-caulking, some planking replaced, new toe-rail etc. Engine is a Yanmar 3JH diesel with reconditioned cooling system, exhaust system, shaft coupling, refurbished stern tube etc. Full details are available of the significant works completed. She is basically equipped and needs re-fitting internally but now that the hull work is completed the rest can be done in the water. "Tam O Shanter" is a rare classic and deserves to be brought back to life.
