FOR SALE / AVAILABLE IN ONE MONTH - Tradewind 33 Da Capo
The Tradewind 33 is the little sister of the Tradewind 35, which has participated in the legendary Golden Globe Race -- a nonstop solo circumnavigation around the world, without electronics. The Tradewind 33 is just two feet smaller but essentially the same design, with a bowsprit added for sail balance. Built for serious offshore passages, full fiberglass hull, deck, and superstructure (only interior joinery and bulkheads are wood). I sailed her from Port Douglas to Yamba recently -- she is ready to go without any hidden surprises.
Construction & Deck: Full fiberglass construction with vinyl ester + polyester hull, absolutely no osmosis, and Coppercoat antifoul. Previous owners removed the teak deck (approx. $20,000 investment) to create a durable, low-maintenance fiberglass deck with incredible usable space. Massive sunshade over the cockpit enhances comfort.
Rigging & Sails: Both forestays and backstay are new, Dyneema shrouds 7 years old, most running rigging new, and rig survey available. Full-batten mainsail, inner staysail in good condition, slightly stretched Genoa, and spare butterfly jib with two whisker/spinnaker poles.
Engine & Systems: Mercedes OM636 diesel, legendary and bulletproof, in fantastic condition. All belts new, oil and coolant regularly replaced, impeller recently replaced, primary & secondary fuel filters replaced. Cross-hatching inspected and piston cylinders checked -- all in great quality. Dual autopilots (Pelagic primary + Raymarine backup), chartplotter, Iridium GO, CQR anchor with 80 m chain, Muir electric windlass with handheld and foot button redundancy. All onboard systems working as they should.
Living Aboard: Spacious interior for two, bathroom with TMC macerator pump for saltwater flushing, $10,000 stern davit system for dinghy, swim ladder, and extensive tools and spare parts onboard. A West Marine dinghy is included, with a 2-horsepower Yamaha engine. The dinghy is a bit old and used (rough shape), but the Yamaha engine works perfectly and never skips a beat.
This is a great offer -- a fantastic price for a boat of this build quality, with so much interior space. She looks as new as a boat built after the 2000s, can take you around the world, and makes a fantastic liveaboard. I am selling simply because I'm looking for different projects elsewhere than sailing at the moment.
