Beautiful classic South Australian Yacht built in 1985 to the highest standard perfect for ocean cruising or racing. Like all Van de Stadt designs, Wavelength has the perfect balance of speed, security and comfort. To quote the most recent, 2024, surveyor, "They don't build boats this strong anymore!"
To her comfort, Wavelength has just a stunning interior fit out, from the beautiful saloon table, to the abundant storage cupboards, the attractive headlining and the recently restored water tanks. Unique 3 berth rear cabin, well equipped galley and approximately 6'4" headroom gives the feel of a much larger vessel. An enclosed pump out toilet with handheld shower and basin completes the quality accommodation.
This quality extends throughout, from the spotless dry bilges, to the inner skin of the hull, the recently replaced through hull fittings and the new 43 metres of high tensile anchor chain, everything suggests a series of owners who deeply appreciated this boat.
Again to quote the 2024 survey, much of her is in "peak condition".
Her 38 horsepower, low hours Nanni engine coupled to 3 blade folding prop, provides a good 7 knots from her easily driven hull, but it is when the sails set, that Wavelength comes into her own. The high aspect rig, relatively deep fin keel and powerful rudder, sees the SOG regularly go above 9 knots, while quality assy in sock and symmetrical kite, ensure great downwind performance.
Her sailing ability is further confirmed by a win in the cruising division (second on handicap) in the Adelaide to Port Lincoln race a few years back.
The genoa on Hood furler, 3 reef main in brand new boom bag with lazy jacks, and the fact that most sail controls are managed from the cockpit, via 4 sheet and 3 coach house self tailing winches, all add to the sense of security Wavelength offers under sail, especially when short handed.
Linear autohelm
So, whether it's club or twilight racing, marina drinks with friends, gentle family cruising, or serious offshore adventures, Wavelength is a vessel to inspire your sailing passions.
Note:- Wavelength is based at Marina St Vincent but, will be in Port Lincoln during part of Lincoln Week, until the end of February.
