A rare opportunity to acquire the legendary IOR racing boat "Locomotion" re-born as a competitive club racer.
"Locomotion" is a 26ft Whiting 1/4 tonner designed by famed Kiwi yacht designer Paul Whiting.
She is a former Australian quarter ton and JOG (Junior Offshore Group) champion and is still highly competitive in club races on Sydney Harbour.
"Locomotion" is in immaculate condition. Since 2022, her current owner has spared no expense totally refurbishing the boat - from the keel up. The keel, hull and deck have been re-faired and re-sprayed. She has a new set of racing sails, new boom cover, new deck gear (including Harken winches), new boom, new Selden Rodkicker vang, new halyards, new cascading backstay system, new sheets and a new 6hp Mercury outboard.
Locomotion also has an extensive wardrobe of cruising sails.
With a single-spreader, swept-back rig and no runners, Locomotion is very easy to sail short-handed or fully-crewed.
