Wilson Bros Pilothouse Motor Sailer

Carvel planked of Huon Pine, designed by Noel Wilson and built by Wilsons of Port Cygnet, launched in 1978. Alcairo is an excellent example of a traditional Tasmanian motorsailer with an enclosed wheelhouse with helmsman's door and tiller steering from the cockpit to enjoy her cutter rigged sailing capabilities. The current owner of 23 years has proudly shown her off at 7 Tasmanian Wooden Boat Festivals and the sale is a reluctant one due to retiring from boating. Powered by an 80hp inboard Ford diesel with a dry exhaust, Alcairo cruises economically at 6 to 7 knots and has never let the owner down in over 2000 engine hours.
The interior is a credit to Tasmanian boatbuilders, both original and present, featuring Blackwood and Huon Pine with good headroom, a comfortable V berth forward, fully enclosed heads and saloon berths, dinette to port and galley opposite. Very inviting and very comfortable
This is a great opportunity to acquire a classic that can also come with a hard to get marina berth at Oyster Cove Marina in Kettering if desired. The owner has compiled a history of the vessel under his care which is available by request. Inspect by appointment only please.
