Medical issues unfortunately force me to sell my 1994 Austral clubman 8 - sail number 8008. This vessel in good overal condition with a very good sail wardrobe. I have had the boat less than 12 months and health problems have resulted in it only being sailed once, this being in the recent Bay to Bay Trailable yacht race. The Clubman 8 is quality built boat produced by Austral Yachts in South Australia and won Boat of the Year when first relased.
Sails include a racing mainsail as well as No. 1,2 and 3 laminate headsails - all in good condition. In addition there is a symetrical spinnaker as well as near new asymetrical. The boat also has a carbon fibre prodder which can be fitted to the bow to allow the asso to be flown further forward. The forestay, lifelines and backstay were replaced this year and most halyards have also been replaced. Lifting of the keel is done by a cabin top winch through a 6 to 1 reduction. A new battery operated Powerwinch is included which makes keel lifting an easy task.
Older dacron cruising sails are also included.
A 6hp Suzuki 4 stroke outboard is fitted to the transom. This motor is a 2023 model approximately and has had very litte use. It is super reliable, and a 23 litre external fuel tank is located in a stern locker.
The boat is located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
The trailer Mackay dual axle trailer was extensively refurbished in 2024 and included replacement of both axles, sections of frame, hubs, bearings, brakes, brake cables, rims, tyres, winch and jockey wheel. A new spare wheel is also included.
A water bladder is fitted below the forepeak and is connected to the sink by a 12 volt pump. 2 batteries are present, one of which was replaced in 2024. All cabin lights have been replaced with LED globes. The galley includes a 2 burner metho stove and a stainlesss steel sink. A built-in 2 compartment esky is present.
The 5kg danforth anchor is fitted with 10 metres of new 6mm chain and approximately 30 metres of warp.
Safety gear consists of an epirb and curreent inshore flares, V sheet and fire blanket.
This is a well built vessel that suits both racing and cruising and has never been anti-fouled. A fold down dining table is located in the main cabin and accommodation consists of a double in the forward cabin, 2 single berths in the main cabin and a large berth aft below the cockpit.
A survey carried in 2024 is available to someoine with serious interest.
