Bruce Harris Harris 21 fibreglass launch

Built by Bruce Harris (of Shark Cat fame) in the mid 80's this is a 21 ft (6.4m) displacement hulled round-bilged launch in sturdy fibreglass construction. It is best described as a trailerable version of his popular Cuddles 30 and 35 ft cruisers. Boats of this configuration are quite hard to find, that is, small trailerable displacement cruisers with inboard diesel engines. It is understood that Bruce Harris developed these boats as an answer to steadily rising fuel prices in the eighties.

Inboard 23 HP (@2600rpm) Yamaha 2 cylinder diesel marine engine (ME120 EH-A) with 118hrs.

Stainless steel full length keel and stainless steel rudder.
Forward controls from pilot house.
UHF radio
Auto bilge pump (if in water) and drain plug (if on trailer).
New canvas (full stern cover).
Like all displacement hulls she is very economical, using just 1 to 1.5 litres of fuel per hour at 5 to 6 knots. (In comparison a 90hp outboard on a planing hull of similar length would use well over 30 litres per hour, albeit at a much higher speed).
Trailer in good condition, tyres good.
Dry stored in commercial shed for past 5 years, and likely spent most of its life in dry storage.
Inspected by Marine Surveyor in 2021 before being stored, appraised as 'great condition', copy of report available.
Combined mass of boat and trailer approx 2.5t.
Boat and trailer both have 11 months WA rego.
Recommissioned in July 2026, with a new battery and fresh diesel, starts and runs easily, testament to the simplicity and robustness of the mechanical direct injection diesel engine. Videos available on request.
