ALICE is a 16ft Herreshoff 12 ½. Designed in 1914, with a long keel.
The late Joel White from Centre Harbour, Maine, Brooklyn (USA), redesigned her in 1991 by replacing the long keel with a 250 kg lead shoe and centreboard. He renamed her the 16ft Haven 12 ½.
ALICE was built by David Clark of Raymond Island in 2010, she is striped planked cedar with epoxy glass inside and out.
A great little gaff rigged day boat with near new sails, ideal for the Gippsland Lakes or similar waterway, and an absolute delight to sail.
She sits on a registered gal trailer with extendable draw-bar for easy launching in shallow water.
