West Wight Potter 19

It's been a long time since JCM listed a trailer sailor for sale and although we have stepped away from boats built in the 70's/80's and the 90's there is still a desire to go sailing aboard a late model trailer sailor.

Hence, we couldn't say no to this 2008 built West Wight Potter 19, her style, her lines and proven sail-ability, which = saleability.

I don't need to tap away on the keyboard, re-hashing what has already been written on this gentrified model and for those that are new to the make, Google has plenty of links to read and video to watch.

West Wight Potter is a brand that was manufactured and distributed in the USA market with some exportation to Australia and the European markets. The Potter 19 found success between 2006 and 2009 in the Australian markets with the Aussie dollar at parity making the Potter 19 excellent value when put up against the current used trailerable fleet of aging trailer sailors on the market.

As the photos demonstrate although a smaller TS at circa 19', the design is clever in maximising both the space in the cockpit and down below in the cabin. Seating for 4 in the cockpit, and sleeping berths for 4, makes the boat adaptable to a days sailing, then drop anchor in a protected bay and enjoy sundowners as the day boats disappear back to the boat ramps.
The mast and rigging were replaced circa 2020. Please note that although JCM has stood the mast and rigging for marketing, the rigging will require the new owners to spend time adjusting and setting up.

A main sail and jib are included and are both in working condition and the Potter being a simple rig, means no winches are fitted, simple block and reduction lines are used for tensioning the sails, simplicity at its best.

If the wind dies away or you require combustion power to make you way into or out the marina, a warranted, 2012, F6ML Mercury 6Hp long shaft four stroke outboard is included as pictured. The Mercury has a built-in fuel tank, steering friction control and a proper Forward/Neutral/Reverse gear box. The Mercury fits to a transom mounted stainless steel adjustable (up/down) Garelick engine bracket.

JCM has scrapped the original USA made trailer that this boat came on, as it was not only unroadworthy in meeting Australian compliance, but it was also braked with a system that is now hard to source parts.

Therefore, we have sourced and fitted this quality, Australian made, Mackay Multi-Link MLKR5000 trailer that marries to the hull like a glove, enhancing trailerability/launching and retrieving processes.

Featuring mechanical override disc brakes, 14" light truck tyres and a keel roller system that provides the necessary support to the hull and the dagger board keel as pictured.

Due to the second nature of the hull and rigging, please note that these are sold in "AS IS" condition.

No warranty nor "Test Sail" is implied nor given, and the purchaser accepts that they are to familiarise themselves as to the "Fit for Purpose" and if a buyer elects, welcome to employ the services of a Marine Surveyor to establish a surveyors report at their cost for professional advice pertaining to the condition of the Hull/Rigging/Sails.

The Mackay trailer is sold in road worthy condition and registered for Qld buyers.

The Mercury outboard is also sold with and backed by a BIA 3 month limited warranty.

Other services and re-assurances included are as follows:

o Pre- sale mechanical reports have been completed
o Buying from a dealership that has been in business for over 60 years.
