Sojourner is French meaning to stay or reside temporarily in a place.
Well, "Sojourner" is setup exactly for this as a fantastic family holiday home on the water.
Built in 2006 by professional houseboat builder, Peter Van Der Linden. Peter had a reputation of building quality and strong houseboats. Inspecting Sojourner you can see Peter's great work.
Externally Sojourner is bright, fresh and inviting with composite aluminium external cladding at water level and recently painted walls on the first storey level. Walk onboard and something is different; it is the higher ceilings which allow larger windows and more of the beautiful scenery into the houseboat.
Sojourner was built for a family to enjoy. There are three good sized bedrooms with double over double beds bunks in each. Then at the front there is a fold out single bed and the opportunity for another near the helm with sliding cavity doors for privacy.
The main bathroom is well laid out with twin vanities, large shower, toilet and a combo washer/dryer. The big advantage for a family is the second bathroom with toilet, vanity and linen storage. Importantly this enables 2 Blackwater Tanks with the extra storage capacity.
The kitchen is well laid out and presents very well with the stone benchtops. The large oven and 5 burner cooktop will be a positive for many as well as the twin tub sinks, drinking water filter system and the dishwasher.
The main dining table is upstairs which means there is a Breakfast/Bar Table with stone benchtop and stools to enjoy a snack or a coffee.
The double width opening doors open up to a good sized rear deck with hydraulic duckboard.
The internal stairs take you to an excellent feature of this houseboat. Very good houseboat design and layout, especially for a family, provides a relaxation/entertainment space for each generation no matter the weather all year round.
This first storey level space provides front and rear areas to enjoy the sun and the scenery with front & rear double width doors opening up the inside to a relaxation and dining area serviced by a second kitchen.
It works great for a family.
Technology on Sojourner; there are twin Victron Energy Phoenix 2500w Inverter/Charger Systems; a Xantrex Solar Charge Controller; 6 x 520AH AGM Deep Cycle House Batteries (new in 12018); fed by 4 Solar Panels. This system is backed up by a Onan 8kva marine Generator. Sojourner is powered by a quality Mercruiser 4.3lt V6 Motor.
Sojourner has just been slipped (2026) with the pontoons serviced and a new GMW CHIR issued. The big ticket maintenance items are under control. With the paintwork looking great Sojourner sparkles and says come on board. There are opportunities to put your touch onto Sojourner and make her your happy place.
Sojourner provides a great family holiday home ticking many boxes to ensure the family enjoys many special times together at their happy place.
