So, every boat you've looked at so far has a bed that's too small, living areas that can't fit all the friends and family, and not enough space to store everything. Well look no further, 'Waterbabe' might be the one for you.

The Coastal Cruiser 50 from Australian manufacturer Eagle Catamarans was born to fit that brief exactly. This is an ultra-practical, comfortable and economical boat that is equally at home as a liveaboard or "floating apartment" in a marina, as it is cruising the coast and spending extended time at the reef. These Eagle Catamarans blend the comfort and space of a houseboat with the performance of a cruiser.

A few small steps from the swim platform lead up to the cockpit, then one single level from the aft saloon door all the way to the master cabin in the bow. Immediately to port in the saloon is a large U-shaped lounge with a height-adjustable table that transforms into the first convertible berth. Opposite is the retractable 50" TV. Forward is the galley, which is more spacious than one you'd find in a small apartment, complete with Isotherm refrigeration and Bosch appliances including a four-burner electric stove, oven and convection microwave.

Forward is the master suite, featuring a queen bed with full walk-around access. You won't be disturbed by your partner getting up through the night, that's for sure. There's storage space everywhere you look, with drawers, cupboards and a full hanging closet. Complete with its own air conditioner and 42" TV, this is comfort that's hard to match. Whilst 'Waterbabe' only has one dedicated cabin, this means there's no space wasted on a second, third or fourth cabin that you may seldom use anyway. The two convertible doubles allow a total of six guests to sleep onboard, unless you want to roll out the swags.

Just down the hall to starboard is the shower, arguably the biggest shower stall we've seen in recent times. There's also access to the "garage" here, where the current owner stores water toys, cleaning gear, you name it. Across the hall is the electric toilet and Samsung washer/dryer.

Access to the flybridge is via an easily navigable stairway with a great handrail to grab onto. The helm station is forward, with two plush helm chairs and excellent visibility of the surroundings, along with two Raymarine displays and all gauges. To starboard is a lounge, allowing guests to stay close to the skipper. Moving aft on the upper deck, to starboard is the wet bar complete with another Isotherm fridge and sink, again with plenty of storage space. Opposite is the second lounge, which also converts to a double bed should more of your guests want to stay the night.

The Eagle Catamaran 4.8m Overlander tender is stored at the rear of the upper deck via a 350kg ADC davit. The hardtop features an awning extension that folds up to allow the tender to be launched and retrieved.
