MAIKEN - Proven Bluewater Cruiser

Designed by renowned yacht designer Doug Peterson and built by C & L Marine Corp, Taiwan, MAIKEN is a proven offshore cruising yacht with an impressive history. Sailed from the United States to Australia, she has demonstrated her bluewater capability and reliability, while benefiting from extensive upgrades over the past four years.

Launched circa 1980, MAIKEN is a capable and well-equipped cruising yacht that can be easily handled from the cockpit. Her sail inventory includes a Profurl furling genoa, self-tacking staysail, hank-on asymmetric spinnaker, and a fully battened mainsail in fair condition. The mainsail is fitted with Harken slides, with spare slides included onboard. Running backstays provide additional rig support when required.

For long-distance passagemaking, MAIKEN is equipped with a Cape Horn self-steering system (currently disconnected but included with the vessel). The engine has been recently serviced, providing peace of mind for the next owner.

Her most recent haul-out was completed in August 2025 and included an insurance survey, reflecting ongoing maintenance and care.
