Custom 44 Cruising Yacht

"Shambala 1" is a much loved and beautifully presented cruising yacht, strongly built in epoxy glass over strip planked kauri. Her design is based on the renowned Perry designed Passport 40 and stretched out to 44', providing large living spaces and accommodation. Layout includes two double cabins fore and aft with a huge saloon and galley midships. The quality fit-out in red cedar is warm and inviting with plenty of light from the deck hatches and portlights.

"Shambala 1" has circumnavigated with her previous owners, and is well set up for extended cruising with features such as water-maker, washing machine, Furuno electronics and large tankage. One of her key features is exceptional storage throughout - often overlooked in cruising yacht design.

Designed and built by Terry Crisp, and launched in 1992, she is powered by a Vetus 56 hp diesel with 3 blade feathering prop. Meticulous and ongoing maintenance is evident throughout this magnificent vessel, including new standing rigging in 2024, and recent slipping (July 2026). Engine serviced Sept 2026.
