Fountaine Pajot Salina 48 | Comfortably Numb
Comfortably Numb is an exceptionally well-equipped Fountaine Pajot Salina 48, offering the ideal combination of comfortable liveaboard cruising, impressive sailing performance, and proven offshore capability. Renowned for their efficient hull design, spacious accommodation, and easy handling, the Salina 48 remains one of Fountaine Pajot's most respected bluewater cruising catamarans.
Recently polished and prepared for the upcoming cruising season, Comfortably Numb was set to head back into the Pacific before a change in her owners' plans created an opportunity for a new custodian to take the helm. Presented in excellent condition and ready to sail away, she offers a rare chance to acquire a proven cruising catamaran with extensive upgrades already completed.
Her cruising history is both extensive and impressive. Purchased by a New Zealand owner in 2013, she spent several years cruising throughout the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic and exploring the Caribbean for two years. She then voyaged to New Zealand, later cruising Fiji before changing ownership again in 2021.
Throughout her life, Comfortably Numb has benefited from attentive ownership and continual investment. A former owner with an aircraft engineering background maintained the vessel to an exceptionally high standard, while the current owners undertook a substantial upgrade program with future Pacific cruising in mind.
Recent improvements include:
o New North-designed sails
o New batteries
o New electric winch
o New watermaker
o New icemaker
o New tender and outboard
o New clears and cockpit squabs
o Sleepyhead innerspring mattresses
o Electric freshwater and saltwater toilet systems
o New antifoul and Propspeed
o Full cut and polish completed March 2026
The Salina 48 is highly regarded for its balance of performance and comfort, offering excellent load-carrying ability, efficient passagemaking, and spacious living areas suited to extended cruising. The protected cockpit flows seamlessly into the saloon, while generous accommodation and abundant storage make life aboard comfortable whether at anchor or underway.
Fully equipped and ready for her next adventure, Comfortably Numb represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire a capable offshore cruising catamaran without the wait or expense of a major refit.

The rig was comprehensively serviced by YachtSpas in New Zealand in November 2020 and remains in good condition. Stainless steel standing rigging and associated systems were inspected and serviced at that time, while all halyards and control lines were replaced in 2022. Well maintained and proven, the rig is set up for reliable coastal and offshore cruising.
