Description: Inglis 39 Fast Cruiser Comfortable Easy Shorthand Sailing
Please note we are cruising so use WhatsApp to call us.

After a distinguished racing career we refitted her for cruising and for the last 11 years we have been full-time liveaboards. Tweaked until perfect for single or shorthanded sailing.

Average speed over ground is 8 knots. In the right conditions she sails comfortably at 10 -12 knots. Best mileage for 24 hour period 280nm.

She has completed 2 Melbourne to Osaka races, 2003 and 2013 finishing 3rd. 2 handed.

Completed Sydney to Lord Howe fully crewed.

2 Sydney to Hobart races 2004 and 2011.

Multiple Melbourne to Hobart West Coasters, many Geelong weekends. The attached video is of her winning the Apollo Bay race.

She may have been retired from racing but she is still sleek and with a large well appointed saloon comfort is assured.

Her speed insures that we can do what we love most and that is day sail from anchorage to anchorage with time to enjoy an afternoon swim before sundown.

The sugar scoop is a great swim platform easy to climb back on board.

She is fully independant for remote sailing.

It is with sadness that we look to find a new owner who can take her on new adventures.

She sails well and easily does 200nm in a 24hr period without trying too hard.

3 furling headsails all fed back to the cockpit means it is easy to change up or down from the Screecher to the staysail safely.

Slab reefing with large reefs in the double clutched main.

Boom bag with lazy jacks, full shade cover with removable sides perfect for rainy days.

Lift keel usually at 2.2m can be raised to 1.8m. 1.5 Ton of lead in the bulb. Carbon fibre Tiller.

Autopilot is DD15 and can handle any weather with NAC3 computer. Forward scanner for when arriving in shallow harbours.

Carbon fibre reinforcement throughout.

960watts of solar and a D400 wind generator keeps the 600amph of lithium batteries full for all our electrical needs, including all electric cooking. Backup is a 250amp alternator. Our hot water heater comes on automatically when batteries are full, our anchor lights are set up to come on automatically after dark no fear of forgetting if you come back later than planned.

Rainwater collection from solar panels and a water maker for dry times means always enough for showers.

Our newly rebuilt D1-30 Volvo Penta (black box replaced with stand alone alarms and taco) can motor easily with an adjustable feathering propeller at 7.5kn. (Goodwill propeller is easy to remove or adjust in water)

Engine Guard alarm protects you from any uptake of plastic (a common occurrence in Asia) letting you know when your water temp is too high.

Fuel polisher installed to protect against dirty fuel, gives peace of mind when unsure of fuel quality purchased on islands.

Built a Carbon Kevlar Unicat dinghy, light weight with 9.9hp outboard, can do 20kn in calm water. Perfect for long distance trips. Hooka can be loaded in with portable 12v battery for shallow diving. (Towing the dinghy behind is easy)
