Inglis 47 Fast Forward

One of the legendary Inglis 47s, Fast Forward is a serious racing yacht with incredible performances on the water that remains competitive by today's racing standards.

She is a beautifully built wooden boat in excellent structural condition, that has benefitted from a high level of maintenance over the years.
She would need of a good spruce up at this point in her career, but could join the small but re-emerging fleet of recently refurbished Inglis 47s, including Wild One (the original Wild Thing), Advantedge and Vendetta; offering a dynamic scene for campaigning this design today.

A spacious cockpit allows easy manoeuvring for up to ten crew (and includes appropriate berthing below). One of the specifics of the Inglis design is the position of the chart table and all electronic equipment, located in between the twin wheels, it allows proximity and easy communication, and provides a second cabin access at the rear.

A significant 3.2m deep keel assures high stability in the water and balances out the 19m mast, She is also fitted with a lifting keel which with a refit would be able to raise to 2.2m for easier berthing access.

On the downside, there are some major repairs and refits to plan:
Due to a rainwater infiltration, part of the wooden keel box needs rebuilding,
The standing rigging is 20 years old, and would need replacing.
The rigging and deck gear is getting tired, and could do with replacing.

Fast Forward is a beautiful, performance project boat of excellent design, and construction, that is starting to show her age, but with the right person ready to invest time and money, she could definitely be brought back into the game roaring.
