A one owner example sold new by PBS and fitted with a Leisurefurl boom furling system and both self-tacking jib and performance furling Genoa, depending on the use of the yacht at the time. Ease of handling was important for this multiple Jeanneau owner who has enjoyed the yacht for family weekends with children and grandchildren, whilst also being a regular twilight competitor on Pittwater.
Having just been antifouled in February 2026 and with all new rigging in May of last year there is nothing to spend to be out enjoying our local waterways.
The 44 Deck-Saloon is a stylish, strong and capable yacht with a great cockpit and an interior that is modern bright and features a phenomenal owner's cabin, and very generous guest cabin, both with ensuites.
Being of its generation there are fixed steps from the swim platform, at which there is a sturdy boarding ladder and hot & cold shower. On the pushpit there is a custom outboard bracket, and also on the stern is a gas bayonet fitting for the BBQ. Under the starboard helm seat is the two bottle gas locker, whilst opposite there is a lazarette locker. The outboard helm seats cover the cockpit speakers and deck fillers. At each helm there are two Simrad multi displays, and also an autopilot control at the starboard helm. There are symmetric lockers under the bench seats and a full set of fitted cockpit cushions. The canvas package incorporates a deluxe Spray-dodger with rear and side handrails, there is a 3-bow Bimini on which is mounted a 140W flexible solar panel, and a link sheet.
The Leisurefurl boom means that setting and retrieving the mainsail is done from the cockpit and when combined with the self-tacking jib it makes the yacht incredibly easy to sail single-handed. However, there is also a performance furling genoa and storm jib. For off-wind sailing there is a Furling Code 0 that flies off a retractable bow-pole, and Spinnaker in a sock. If and when you do need to go forward the side decks are wide and there is a clear path forward without having to negotiate the side stays.
Stepping down from the companionway the L-shaped galley is to starboard where there is also access to the full-width King sized owners' cabin with seats on either side and bedding lockers as well as a hanging locker. On the port side of the companionway is the day/owners head and then the nav' table which you can sit to facing aft. Under the nav' table is an additional 12v front loading fridge. The saloon is spectacularly light and bright and has a bench seat to port and a U-shaped dinette to starboard. The table bifolds to change from a drinks table to a dining table and is on an electric pedestal to be easily lowered to form an additional generous double for occasional guests. Going forward is a particularly large owners' cabin with an island style double, lots of floor space and lockers. The guest head has a manual toilet, whereas the aft head is electric and both have separate holding tanks.
This is a lightly but regularly used yacht that must be seen to be appreciated. It ticks all the boxes being in excellent condition and can be enjoyed for any aspect of sailing. Well worth putting on your short list!
