Few cruising catamarans have achieved the enduring popularity of the Lagoon 380. Renowned for her generous accommodation, shallow draft, comfortable sailing characteristics and easily managed proportions, this highly successful design has attracted a loyal following among cruising couples, families and liveaboards worldwide. Offering remarkable living space for a 38-foot yacht, the Lagoon 380 remains an appealing choice for those seeking the freedom and versatility of multihull cruising.
Taking Liberties is the desirable four-cabin, two-head version, presenting as a clean, comfortable and well-equipped example with considerable recent investment behind her. Her bright, spacious saloon and practical up-galley open directly into a generous, all-weather cockpit, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor living and entertaining area. Four private double cabins, upgraded custom mattresses, excellent ventilation and comfortable furnishings make her equally appealing for family holidays, extended coastal cruising or life aboard.
Importantly, significant expenditure has been directed towards the mechanical and sailing systems. Her twin Yanmar 30hp diesel engines have been regularly maintained, with saildrives professionally overhauled with new diaphragms and seals fitted in 2025. Twin Gori folding propellers, an upgraded furling headsail, replacement forestay, gooseneck and running rigging improvements further enhance her cruising credentials. Her standing rigging was professionally inspected in 2025.
Well equipped for comfortable, independent cruising, Taking Liberties benefits from substantial solar generation and battery capacity, upgraded refrigeration, hot water, an extensive cockpit enclosure and a comprehensive cruising and safety inventory. Her Raymarine navigation suite remains operational, while the spacious cockpit, uncomplicated sail plan and twin engines make sailing and manoeuvring practical and enjoyable.
