Description: Lavranos 41 Fast Liveaboard Cruiser with racing potential
Meet "Loco", a meticulously maintained 1996 Lavranos 41, crafted in South Africa under the skilful eye of Lavranos and built by MBL Yachts, in keeping with Lloyd's specifications. This vessel seamlessly blends Lavranos' IOR racing design (Cape Vickers II) with a cruising winglet keel and a tastefully designed interior. The transom offers easy access to an open-plan cockpit and a secure hard-top dodger with flush mounted solar panels.

"Loco" embarked on an incredible journey, sailing from South Africa to Western Australia, then continued on to New Zealand, and ultimately to Australia. Despite her racing pedigree, this exceptional yacht was intended for fast cruising and is fitted with a carbon-fibre composite rig. With a designed hull speed of 8kts which can be achieved both upwind and downwind in anything over 15kts conditions permitting. She has predominantly been sailed solo by her dedicated owner and has never yet ventured into the realm of competitive racing.

The interior is a testament to craftsmanship, finished with South African hardwood and teak flooring, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. A folding table complete with intricately inlaid chess board adds an elegant touch to the space.

Natural light floods the interior, thanks to overhead LED lighting, while opening ports and overhead hatches ensure excellent ventilation. The large 'L-shape' galley and generous-sized chart table blend into the inviting and cosy curved saloon. The galley is fitted with salt and fresh water, two independent ice boxes, a gimbal stove with oven, grill combo and deep sinks.

With generous provision for water and fuel, a large cockpit lazarette workshop and endless storage cabinets above and below deck, you can live very comfortably aboard on extended passages. 'Loco' would be best suited someone looking for a strong, capable, fast and ocean capable sailing vessel to fit out for liveaboard cruising or to compete in long distance offshore racing.

Fast passage maker with quality fit-out and moderate keel - original owner. In a cruising context, Loco is a fast allrounder, with good upwind and light air capability. Loco presents very well although requires some initial outlay to bring elelctronic navigation systems up to date.
Excellent (easy) boarding access from transom. Excellent visibility through dodger. Nice roomy cockpit with well positioned clutches and winches.
Topsides painted 2021, with cockpit and deck non-skid painted 2023.
