Morgan Out Island 416

A Morgan Out-Island 416 GYPSEY ROSE, launched 1981 is now exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales.

The Morgan Out Island 416, specifically the centre cockpit version, is a popular and well-regarded blue water cruising boat, known for its spacious interior and comfortable living quarters. While it may not be the fastest or most nimble sailboat, its popularity is attributed to its ability to provide comfortable, private, and reliable cruising for a large number of sailors.

Spacious Interior:

The Out Island 416 centre cockpit yacht is praised for its generous living space, particularly in the centre cockpit design, which offers multiple cabins for privacy and comfort, making it suitable for extended cruising and liveaboard. The aft cabin is very private and has it's own access to the cockpit plus a large private ensuite.

Comfortable Cruising:

The boats design prioritizes comfort, with a focus on creating a stable and relaxing experience for those on board. She has large deck areas for moving around whilst underway. The cockpit has very generous sized seating and is well protected from the elements. The swim boarding ladder and platform area are sturdy and considerably larger than avaerage. Sturdy stainless steel davits off the transom accomodate a tender.

Popularity:

Its one of the most popular sailboats ever built over 40 feet, with many still sailing worldwide.

Stable Hull:
The deep, rounded hull provides excellent stability, particularly in rough seas, making it a good choice for ocean passages. With a very moderate draft of only 1.37m, she can easily get through the coastal bar crossings and can get into all of the shallow anchorages.
Mechanical:

The 50hp Yanmar diesel shaft driven engine was replaced and is known to have only around 1,000 hours since being installed. The hydraulic steering was renewed in 2025.

She is in good all round condition and ready for more passagemaking.
