The Swanson 42 has a reputation as a solid cruising boat. Shiralee is 46 years old and current list of improvements include: the exterior of the hull has been resprayed by Beashalls, the galley has been refitted (new stove and fridge freezer), all electrics have been upgraded by Aquatronics and lithium batteries have been fitted. Recent antifoul in May 2026.

All work on the boat has been catalogued and there a three folders on board showing dates and inventory of work done and parts installed.

The layout of the boat is ideal for someone looking to liveaboard... There is ample water capacity (555 litres in recently added stainless steel tanks), hot water from a recently installed hot water system...
