Extremely popular and for good reason, the Haines Hunter V17L features excellent hull characteristics and onboard spaces. This particular V17L has namely seen somewhat of a rebuild in recent years, where the current owner has undertaken the installation of a NEW transom, NEW stringers, NEW floor, NEW wave-breaker, NEW rear deck and NEW electronics. This vessel presents very smartly and is a great turn-key example of the acclaimed model.
The vessel presents exceptionally well, featuring a smart satin black wrap on the hull and repainted deck surfaces. The foredeck features a large hatch for easy access, a handy high-power bar light and a heavy-duty bow roller and cleat. The side decks are easy to navigate with plenty of handholds while moving fore and aft, plus the new addition of non-skid finishes makes for a trustworthy surface.
The cockpit is expansive, featuring the aforementioned new floor with storage, high sides and good storage. A pair of removable rod holders on the new aft deck is a great addition, plus numerous other rod holders and a set of rocket launchers in the vicinity. A NEW 75L fuel tank is nestled towards the transom. This cockpit space is incredibly functional, safe and comfortable with few obstructions and NEW finishings, perfect for fishing or social occasions. The helm is well-positioned and in short reach of most points of the vessel, making short-handed handling a breeze. The helm is very well protected with a NEW overhead bimini and NEW wave-breaker that features excellent hand-holds. I tis well equipped and features a NEW Simrad touchscreen display, a Yamaha digital engine telemetry readout, switchgear and the helm controls.
Nestled forward of the helm is the bow area, perfect for overnight accommodation or space to escape the sun. With plenty of storage, this space makes for a very versatile and usable package for longer trips on board. The wiring system throughout is easy to access, with the neatly fitted systems to the helm on show in this area.
Fitted to the NEW transom is a 2004 Yamaha 115hp 4-stroke outboard engine that sports only circa 480 hours and presents in great condition. Also mounted to the transom is a neat underwater light and a transom-mounted transducer.
The vessel sits on a dual-axle Dunbier roller trailer that has current registration and presents in great condition with an additional spare wheel forward.
The Haines Hunter brand is well known amongst Australian boaters and for good reason. This V17L further builds on the excellent platform as a partly rebuilt example that is easy to manage short-handed and perfect for those keen for adventuring further and for longer with its great spaces on board. Its recent upgrades mean this vessel is truly turn-key, with all upgrades finished to a high standard.
