Tjalfe R is an operationally ready 1,000 m³ split hopper barge, available immediately out of the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Built in 2002 by Panyu Lingshan Shipyard in Guangzhou, China, she has since been fitted with removable bow and stern spuds, raised and lowered by hydraulic cable drums. She is in good operational condition and ready to work.
Previously classed with BV, she is currently in AMSA 2C survey. The vendor plans to slip her in December for her mid-term out-of-water survey.
Her two raised deckhouses are a machinery room on the starboard side and an open-plan storage room on the port side. She has no onboard crew facilities and operates as a towed, non-propelled barge. Her decks have recently been repainted with all of the fixtures, deck hatches and bollards presenting in very good condition.
Her hydraulics are powered by a 31.6 kW, 2-cylinder 135 series marine diesel, supported by a large hydraulic oil tank and a solar arrangement for the cranking batteries. This system drives the split hopper rams, the spuds and the windlass.
With a lightship draft of just 1.0 m and a maximum draft of 3.4 m, she is well suited to working shallow channels, harbours and river mouths, as well as carrying loads to offshore discharge grounds.
An optional Perkins/CAT 150 kVA portable genset, currently on deck, is available with the sale.
