Offshore 55 Pilothouse Passagemaker - Equipped for cruising remote Aus

For lovers of classic pilothouse styling, this Offshore 55 is the buy of the century. More than AU$1.6 million has been invested since 2014/15 in an extensive refit - new engines, running gear, electrics and electronics - transforming her from a slow displacement cruiser into a high-powered, semi-planing vessel with genuine off-grid capability. Her engineering is a work of art.

Designed by acclaimed naval architect William Crealock - who began working with Offshore Yachts in the 1960s - the Offshore 55 Pilothouse carries hull lines that reviewers have long described as handsome and ageless. Crealock's signature deep forefoot, mild deadrise and substantial displacement give these yachts an easy motion in a seaway and strong directional stability: the hallmarks of a genuine passagemaker rather than a coastal cruiser dressed up for offshore work. Offshore Yachts built its reputation on refining a proven design rather than chasing trends, earning the marque unusually strong repeat-owner loyalty, with reviewers praising the meticulous standard of construction found throughout the range. The raised pilothouse layout - set above the saloon on this model - gives genuine all-weather, inside helm visibility that owners in demanding cruising grounds particularly value.

More recent upgrades have fitted her with an extensive 1,620 amp/hr lithium house battery bank and solar array, allowing Lisa Marie to run efficiently off-grid with minimal need to run the genset.

Three cabins provide accommodation for six, including a separate midship master stateroom with ensuite, accessed via its own private stairway from the saloon - set well away from the guest cabins for genuine owner's-suite privacy. Her living areas include a fully air-conditioned main saloon with dining, seamlessly integrated with a roomy galley to create one large, connected open-plan living space, appointed with the latest appliances and framed by panoramic tinted windows.

The flybridge is a further space suitable for entertaining, with enough room to also store a tender - a recently added Euro-style shade lets you make full use of the area once the tender is launched. The flybridge is accessed via internal or external stairs or ladder, while the air-conditioned lower pilothouse helm offers all-weather cruising comfort as an alternative.

This particular example has taken that pedigree further still - the refit has transformed her into a long-range, largely self-sufficient cruiser, well suited to remote coastal passages such as those along Western Australia's Kimberley and Ningaloo coastlines.
